Ananda Tamang hails from Kathmandu, Nepal and is a fine cook whose work you might have enjoyed via one of her pop ups at Minifactory where she has served both thali (a meal of many small dishes) and momos.
For this class, she shares her momo (Nepalese dumpling) recipes and techniques. You will learn to mix dumpling dough, make both a vegetarian and meat filling, put together a dipping sauce, then filling the dumplings using two different decorative closures to differentiate the filling types, followed by steaming the dumplings for take-home feasting.
Because of the cost of the meat and because Ananda will make extra momo’s to ensure everyone goes home with a meal’s worth of dumplings (this adds on an extra day of preparatory labor), this class is priced higher than the jam and pastry classes.
